We are pleased to offer Scarnox at the GTAMSC. We are pleased to offer BOTOX injections at the GTA MSC. Botox can be used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing underlying facial muscles. It is the most popular non surgical cosmetic treatment in North America. The injections usually take about half an hour with minimal discomfort.

All of our injections are done by a fully trained Plastic Surgeon to ensure you receive an optimal aesthetic result. Many clinics have injections done by non-plastic surgeons but we believe for best results these injections should be done by a specialist who has formal training in anatomy and surgical technique.

A non-surgical technique designed for skin tightening and fat reduction

The provider will determine whether you are a candidate for truSculpt 3D during the consultation. Typically, appropriate patients have a BMI less than 30.

Yes, this treatment can be done on all skin types.

Treatment time depends on the areas treated. To treat an abdomen and both flanks(4 areas) will take about one hour.

Patients typically see results after one treatment. Some patients may elect to have a second treatment for final tweaks or for treatments on alternate areas.

The treatment is performed using a technique that requires the operator to lightly glide the handpiece over the area being treated. The temperature will slowly heat up and is very comfortable. Most patients comment that the procedure feels like a hot stone massage.

Yes, this is a noninvasive procedure and you can return to all normal activities immediately after the treatment.

There is no downtime or side effect after this treatment. The treatment area may feel tender following the treatment but this will resolve within a few days.

After the treatment, your body’s immune system will start to break down and flush out the fat cells that were treated leading to circumferential reduction. Everyone’s body does so at a different rate however, on average, people will see results around 6-8 weeks after the treatment and continuing improvement up to 3 months.

About the Clinic

The Greater Toronto Area Minor Surgery Clinic is dedicated to providing state of the art of our MINOR surgical procedures are performed with local anesthetic. Our team of surgeons are Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and are in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

We focus our services and techniques to optimize the patient experience and aesthetic outcome. All of our surgical procedures are performed with local anesthetic, which leads to a faster recovery and little downtime. Patients will leave prepared with a detailed instruction sheet that outlines post-procedural care. At our clinic, the surgeon performs all aspects of clinical care, but we hire a nurse to assist the surgeon and patients before, during and after the procedure for a seamless process.

We offer a host of OHIP and non-OHIP covered procedures. You should discuss with your surgeon about whether or not procedures are covered by OHIP.

Dr. Kundhal

Dr. Kundhal, MD MBA FRCSC

Dr. Kundhal is a General Surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgeries (“key hole surgery”) and management of a variety of oncologic and benign surgical problems. He has been a member of the Department of Surgery at William Osler Health System since 2012, and is the Site Chief of General Surgery at Brampton Civic Hospital. He has previously worked at Toronto East General Hospital as a surgeon.

He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Toronto graduating with honours. Following this, he attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He finished a five year surgical residency at the prestigious Department of Surgery at University of Toronto. He trained at the University Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital and Sunnybrook. In addition, he did a Clinical Fellowship at the Toronto East General Hospital with a focus on acute care surgery, colon and rectal surgical procedures and advanced minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Kundhal also has a clinical interest in surgical and non-surgical weight loss, and has completed numerous post-graduate courses in this area. Most recently, Dr. Kundhal completed an advanced graduate degree of Masters of Business Administration at the Ivey School of Business. He hopes to use this experience to improve delivery of healthcare in our healthcare system.

Dr. Kundhal regularly attends conferences and courses to keep up to date with the latest advances in General surgery in order to provide his patients with the most up to date and evidence based care.

Dr.Kundhal is a member of the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario, Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Ontario Association of General Surgeons, and Obesity Medicine Association. He is also a SCOPE certified specialist in Obesity Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Jennica Platt

Dr. Jennica Platt, MD MSc FRCSC

Dr. Platt is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Her practice focuses on reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, upper extremity surgery, nerve surgery and cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Platt is a member of the Department of Surgery at Humber River Hospital. She attended to medical school at the University of Ottawa, and during this time she won the gold medal for her 1st yearmedical class and was student council president in her final year. She graduated from the prestigious University of Toronto plastic surgery training program. While completing her residency, she also obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology, and she is a recognized expert in plastic surgery research. During this time she developed a special clinical interest in breast surgery. She completed a fellowship in hand, wrist and peripheral nerve surgery at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre at Western University. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and won several grants and awards from national and international bodies to recognize her expertise.

Dr. Platt is well known among her patients and colleagues as being considerate, patient and knowledgeable. She will listen to and address all of your questions and concerns during each appointment. Whether you are seeing her for a reconstructive problem (ex: with a hand injury or breast cancer defect) or a cosmetic concern (ex: for breast or abdomen concerns), she will work with you to incorporate your goals and establish realistic expectations. Achieving high patient satisfaction through excellent communication and precise surgical technique is Dr. Platt’s greatest priority.

You will be assessed by your physician to understand what procedure you will require. The Ministry of Health determines whether or not certain procedures are covered. Non-essential medical procedures for removal of benign/non-cancerous skin lesions (skin tags, cysts, lipomas, benign skin moles) are generally not covered by OHIP.

Yes. All patient undergoes a complete consultation by our physicians prior to any procedure. All questions will be answered and post-operative instructions provided.

All procedures vary. This will be discussed during your consultation.

All minor procedures are done with local anaesthetic. A small needle will be used to freeze your skin to ensure you are comfortable during the procedure. Throughout your minor surgery, your physician and nurse will check in with you to ensure you are comfortable and have the best possible experience.

For major aesthetic plastic surgical procedures (such as breast augmentation and tummy tuck) you will be placed under a general anaesthetic to perform your surgery safely. This typically occurs in a hospital-setting.

For truScult skin tightening and body contouring, no anaesthetic is required. The procedure is done in our office with no sedation.

We will review wound care with you prior to your procedure. A detailed post-operative instruction sheet will be provided along with a follow-up appointment.

All surgical procedures necessitate an incision which results in a scar. We use best possible practices to minimize scar size to give the best possible cosmetic result. Wound care will be reviewed with you prior to your procedure.

Generally speaking you can. However, if you have had surgery near your eyes and on your hands we require you to have someone to drive you home or take a taxi.

Yes. Third party financing companies are available to finance medical procedures. GTA MSC administrative staff can help you discuss the options available to you.
